The AVaTR Framework

Your AVaTR™ Score
Explained Simply

Most SEO agencies optimize for Google rankings. CiVallo optimizes for AI citations. Here is exactly what goes into your score and why it matters for local service businesses.

Dimension 1 of 5
GBP Integrity
25
points

Google Business Profile is where AI pulls your name, category, reviews, and service area. A missing, unclaimed, or incomplete GBP means AI skips your business entirely. Most local businesses have incomplete GBP data.

AI systems treat GBP as a primary trust anchor for local businesses. When a consumer asks for a recommendation, the business with a complete, verified, and active GBP has a structural advantage over one with gaps or errors.

Strong looks like

Verified listing, accurate NAP (name, address, phone) across all platforms, defined service area, recent photos, active Q&A section, and consistent review activity.

Broken looks like

Unverified listing, suspended profile, NAP mismatches across directories, missing service area, zero photos, no recent activity, or a profile that has never been claimed.

Dimension 2 of 5
Schema Markup
25
points

Structured data is the machine-readable layer that tells AI engines exactly what your business does, where you serve, and what customers say. Most local businesses have none.

AI models do not read websites the way humans do. They parse structured signals. Schema markup is how you translate your business identity into a language AI systems can extract, verify, and cite without guessing.

Strong looks like

LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and OfferCatalog markup fully deployed, validated against schema.org standards, and free of errors when tested in Google's Rich Results tool.

Broken looks like

No schema at all, schema validation errors, outdated markup that does not reflect current services or pricing, or schema copied from a template that does not match the actual business.

Dimension 3 of 5
AI Crawler Access
20
points

ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity use their own crawlers to index the web. If your robots.txt blocks them, even accidentally, you are invisible to AI search entirely.

Many businesses have robots.txt files that were set up years ago for Google SEO and inadvertently block AI crawlers. A site that ranks well on Google can be completely unindexed by AI systems because of a single misconfigured line.

Strong looks like

robots.txt configured to allow all major AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and others) and an llms.txt file deployed declaring your business identity for LLM transparency.

Broken looks like

robots.txt that uses a wildcard block and never added AI crawler exceptions, no llms.txt file, or a site behind authentication that no crawler can access.

Dimension 4 of 5
Review Velocity
15
points

AI models use review recency and volume as a trust signal. A business with 200 reviews from three years ago scores lower than one with 40 reviews from the past six months.

AI systems are not static. They weight recency. A business that was active in reviews two years ago but has gone quiet since is being treated as a lower-trust signal, regardless of its total review count or star rating.

Strong looks like

Active review collection across Google, Yelp, and other relevant platforms, with a recent and consistent cadence. New reviews appearing at least monthly, with owner responses to recent reviews.

Broken looks like

Last review received six or more months ago, reviews concentrated on one platform only, no owner response pattern, or a spike of old reviews with nothing recent.

Dimension 5 of 5
Response Infrastructure
15
points

When AI sends a lead your way, can they reach you? Working phone, contact form, and booking link are the missing pieces that cause leads to bounce before they convert.

AI citation is the beginning of the journey, not the end. If a consumer gets sent to your website and finds a broken phone number, an unresponsive form, or no clear way to book, the lead is lost. Response infrastructure is what converts AI visibility into revenue.

Strong looks like

A working click-to-call phone number, a functional contact or estimate form, a booking link or clear call to action, and all entry points visible to both humans and AI crawlers.

Broken looks like

Disconnected phone number, form that does not submit, no booking link, contact information buried or missing, or key conversion points hidden behind JavaScript that crawlers cannot read.
